 Elena has unique talents that are enduring during the most challenging times of transition for patients and families. Her skills, including all required by a skillful advanced practice nurse, coupled with compassion and grace, are used to care for those on complex end-of-life journeys. I’ll never forget how she made me and my family feel in our time of need. 

There was a period when a dear friend of mine was very ill and did not believe he had long to live. We contacted several Hospice agencies but quickly realized the process was emotional, confusing, and

overwhelming. I called Elena and sought her advice on making this decision. She also gave us a list of questions to ask, which gave us clarity and control over the decision-making process. The paperwork is in place, but fortunately, he has improved and does not need

to implement the process.

Elena is passionate about helping others understand, educate, and prepare for the inevitable. I have lost my entire family, except one sibling, in the last five years. Because all of them lived in Colorado, and I lived in Georgia, many times I felt guilty that I could not be more helpful. Elena helped me through that guilt. Elena shared several documents which helped me understand the dying process. It helped me prepare for the inevitable. 

Elena offered professional and empathetic guidance to a family member of a client who was failing physically and needed to transition to palliative care. After working with Elena, the family member could see the situation more clearly and realistically and chose the path of least resistance and comfort for their loved one.

Elena has been an absolute lifesaver for my father as he and I have navigated the landscape and accompanying roller coaster of emotions of a complex healthcare situation.
